Yahoo! to acquire Tumblr while avoiding the letter “E”

It is official, Yahoo! to acquire Tumblr. for 1.1 Billion Dollars, US Dollars.

Per the agreement and our promise not to screw it up, Tumblr will be independently operated as a separate business. David Karp will remain CEO. The product, service and brand will continue to be defined and developed separately with the same Tumblr irreverence, wit, and commitment to empower creators.

That is one promise for Yahoo! to keep.

Then again, Yahoo! has been pretty good with their other “E”-deficient acquisition known as Flickr.

At least one guy named David at Tumblr is excited about the acquisition.

By the way, there’s the period at the end of Tumblr’s logo. It matches the exclamation point at the end of Yahoo!.
