Apple to release iOS 4.1 as Developers get the GM build.

Apple to release iOS 4.1 for iPod touch and iPhone the following week after the September 1 Special Event. Meanwhile, developers can get their hands on the GM build of iOS 4.1 today.

iOS 4.1 is available for:

  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPhone 3G (some features are not available)
  • iPod touch 3rd generation
  • iPod touch 2nd generation (some features are not available)

The iPod touch 4th generation comes with iOS 4.1 pre-installed.
