Windows Network Problem

CNET is reporting Windows DNS Flaw exploit

I’m not sure if this is the case.

Here’s the situation.

  • Windows 2000 Server acts as Domain Controller
  • Any DNS query errors redirected to 69.25.212.153
  • Effects computers in Domain/Active Directory running Windows 2000 and Windows XP

I suspect that there’s some kind of ARP Poisoning on the server itself.

    Might be that the default search domain for nslookup was made up before, and now, all of a sudden, someone registered that domain.

    I too am having this issue on our network. Only 2 users out of 100 have the problem though, everyone seems to work fine. They are not able to bring up our Intranet site but mapped drives and typing a UNC path works. It’s nice to know we’re not the only network having this problem.
